Cardlink stands by the side of the alpinist Vanesa Archontidou in support of the Women For Climate initiative

Cardlink, member of Worldline (Euronext:WLN), the European leader in payments services, is pleased to announce that as part of its long-standing cooperation with Vanessa Archontidou and the organization A Woman Can Be, it will support the Women For Climate initiative.

More specifically, the alpinist and Ambassador for the European Climate Pact, Vanesa Archontidou, in collaboration with the journalist Leta Garetsou, will travel to East Africa to meet women of the region, activists and local organizations and contribute to women’s empowerment and efforts to promote sustainable development, while they will attempt to climb Mount Kenya, the second highest mountain in Africa (5. 199m).

These missions are part of AWomanCanBe.org organization’s research on the impact of the climate crisis on the women of the world, which will be presented in a documentary series, aiming, through dynamic images, to motivate and promote sustainability.

For Cardlink, the protection of the environment is an integral part of its social responsibility, envisioning a sustainable future in the payments sector. At the same time, at group level, Worldline is leading the way with its TRUST 2025 environmental responsibility program, which includes environmental commitments around 5 pillars in the areas of Business, People, Ethics & Supply.

Vanesa Archontidou said: “I am grateful for Cardlink support to this new expedition. As Ambassador my contribution is in the field of raising public awareness about the environmental changes and this is the exact goal of the Kenya exhibition, as well as create conversations with local communities and empower women, as they are the ones to educate next generations and pass on message for environmental principles.”

Vivie Chorianopoulou, Marketing and Product Director of Cardlink said “We are very happy to continue our cooperation with Vanessa Archontidou. Our collaboration started years ago when we supported her in conquering the 7 Summits and continues today through the Women For Climate initiative, an action that contributes significantly to climate awareness. With a message that sustainability is no longer an option but an imperative, Vanessa is once again pushing the limits, inviting us all to contribute to sustainable development and women’s empowerment. Cardlink will once again stand proudly by her side.”

On the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5th, Cardlink had the pleasure of welcoming Vanessa Archontidou to its offices. During her visit, the documentary of the organization A Woman Can Be about Antarctica was screened, followed by a discussion with the company’s employees on the ever-current issue of climate change and the small or big actions we can all take to promote the protection of the environment.
