Warning about attempted fraud through electronic messages

Recently, there have been increased attempts of fraud through “brand impersonation” or “phishing” using electronic messages. Specifically, there is a possibility that these messages may appear to be sent from Cardlink, using our company name and logo, with the intention of stealing information and committing fraud.

Please note that communication with Cardlink can only be done through the official means mentioned on our company website www.cardlink.gr, specifically via email support@cardlink.gr and our telephone center at 210-6303000 or 210-6303050.

What is Brand Impersonation

“It is the malicious attempt to deceive using the identity of a large and well-known company or organization. This often occurs through email. The main purpose is to induce the recipient to transfer money to a bank account or to disclose sensitive information.”

What is Phishing

“The practice of sending fraudulent communications that appear to come from a reputable source. It is usually performed through email. The goal is to steal sensitive data like credit card and login information or to install malware on the victim’s machine.”
Phishing attacks are very often these days, so you have to be extra careful when someone tries to steal from your personal data via telephone, sms, e-mail etc. What to watch out for 🧐:

🪕 They often pretend to be someone you know or a company well-known
🪕 Sender ’s e-mail is invalid or weird
🪕 Before clicking on any link, check where it will direct you
🪕 There is usually a sense of urgency
🪕 They ask for sensitive and personal information

Cardlink or your Bank will never ask for your account details, such as e-Banking username/password, card details, one-time password (OTP), etc.

We urge you to be cautious and not respond to requests for personal information such as passwords, credit card numbers, and other sensitive information.

We would like to alert our customers who receive misleading messages not to conduct any transactions, transfer any money, or disclose their company information.
