Cardlink: consumers use their cards for small amount transactions
Both Greek consumers and businesses seem to have as a basic part of their everyday lives the use of cards. Antigonos Papadopoulos, Commercial Director at Cardlink, one of the leading companies in electronic transactions in our country, mentioned at CNN that Greek consumers prefer to use cards to a great extend even for small amount transactions while businesses are beginning to request for more services and products that are related with electronic payments.
The rise of electronic transactions is significant, and it is distinctive that in Cardlink’s network the transactions have increased up to 40% in volume and up to 18% in value during 2018. However, the most interesting fact lies on the increased use of cards for small amount transactions. It is indicative that at the moment 15% of the transactions οn Cardlink’s network is regarding amounts up to 5€ while 4% is regarding amounts up to 2€. “As much as the cost for a cup of coffee” mentions distinctively Mr. Papadopoulos.
According to Mr. Papadopoulos, Cardlink has turned to businesses with the intention to offer real solutions to the challenges that they face daily, by utilizing technology and by offering high level services.
Cardlink has launched a series of new services during the last months, which have great acceptance, such as Cardlink Maitre, the cloud ordering app for coffee shops, bars and restaurants, and the advanced technology Android POS, which are preferred by businesses for their advanced capabilities.
Moreover, one of our newest products is the Cardlink Pulse platform, which will be available soon and will offer the ability to businesses to utilize the data they already generate and transform them into opportunities able to improve their business’s performance.
Cardlink’s goal is to offer a wide range of services that would be able to add value to their business and it is no coincidence that the company is running the last mile towards acquiring the Payment Institution license. This process is estimated that will be completed by the start of this summer.
