FoodBag trusted Cardlink’s e-commerce solution for the movement against food waste

The challenge

Aiming to reduce food waste, FoodBag brings to Greece the global movement against “Food waste” and actively connects consumers with businesses to raise awareness and take action. Thanks to the innovation that FoodBag brings to the Greek market, it contributes to reducing the volume of landfills and methane emissions, and therefore to fighting climate change.

Through its implementation, both consumers and businesses are encouraged to join the movement against food waste and make a difference. How? Consumers-Foodbaggers, by buying edible products at significant discounts that would have been discarded because there simply wasn’t time to sell them within store hours, and businesses-Foodheroes by selling surplus food at low prices instead of throwing it away.

FoodBag needed a reliable payment management solution that would simplify the process of daily transactions in its app and provide a unique experience for its customers. The key need was for an efficient payment system that would ensure not only simplicity and speed but also security in conducting transactions. But it was also essential to ensure that the solution could be implemented within a short timeframe, so that the application could be released on schedule and could be quickly connected to the many and ever-growing partner businesses. An easy-to-use UI at the last step of checkout was another priority for FoodBag to encourage consumers to shop through the app and ensure a seamless user experience.

The solution

 

Cardlink ckeckout offered FoodBag the absolute answer to its challenges. Cardlink’s e-commerce solution enabled one-click payments through the use of its Tokenization service, allowing Foodbaggers to store their card in the secure Cardlink e-Commerce environment and complete their purchase in a fast and secure way, without their actual card data being handled. The purpose of tokenization in e-commerce is to protect against data breaches and increase security in payment card data processing. At the same time, it offered the ability to easily cancel orders and issue refunds (partial or full), ensuring a seamless end-to-end user experience.

Facilitating smooth tech integration, Cardlink provided an easy-to-use Sandbox that enabled the app developers to test and complete the tech integration of the mobile app with Cardlink checkout using a simple three-step process.

As part of the partnership, FoodBag also uses Cardlink apollo, the platform that offers live monitoring, as well as detailed reports, useful charts and transaction statistics, free of charge.

As a new Cardlink customer, FoodBag also chose to take advantage of Cardlink one, the payment acceptance service provided in partnership with Worldline Greece. Cardlink one is the simplest way to accept payments and leverage an integrated relationship that offers fast self-service onboarding, secure payment acceptance on any account and 24/7 service from Cardlink’s team of experts.
